I love how an initial idea evolves quickly after application. I learn something new every time I do a perfume session with customers. It's all about balancing what works, what travels well, practicality, cost, aesthetic, etc. It's also cool to apply my Georgetown business knowledge, even on a super small scale. I have the same two thoughts every day: “Are you out of your mind?! What are you doing? No one is going to hire you!” And, “I can do this!”
I have not been successful in the past, but in hindsight, I was not aligning with what I was doing nor did I fight hard enough. I worked with difficult, lazy, and flaky people and I let them set the mood. I like to check in and ask people around me for validation, but I think that's partly due to just being single and a remote worker. I'm just stuck in my own head all day.
I am still loving mixing perfume every other day. It's so fun and exciting. I'll be busy working and schooling, and then if I have a free moment, I think, “I just want to make perfume!” I love seeing people excited over it too.
So here's the cute little perfume kit I made for each guest. I also considered a taller box with lid. Maybe to mail out? 😍
Off to make a Halloween perfume!
💋 🥰
